Processing your feelings...Honor-Bless-Release

​Let’s face it…no one likes to feel emotions that are not productive. I steer away from classifying my feelings as “negative.” I like to think that all of our “humanness” has meaning and relevance to our lives. Labeling a feeling as “good” or “bad” can also be a form of self-judgment which is never productive and can be very destructive. Yet, in all honesty, we do not like all of our feelings. We don’t have to like how we feel. I am asking that we LOVE ourselves enough to allow our feelings without judgment and criticism.  
Here is a step stage outline for processing your feelings:

  1. Acceptance – Your feelings are just that, feelings. If you can accept all feelings without attaching any thought or structure to those feelings, in reality, they would just flow right through you. When we create stories around our feelings, this builds into emotions. Once we have done that, our feelings are harder to “let go of” and can build in intensity especially when fed by our minds and thoughts. Your job in this first step is just to accept whatever you are feeling in this moment. Right here, right now. If you want, you can take an emotion (that may have a story) that is waiting to be healed and use this as an example of how easy this system is to use.
  2. Honor – Honor your feelings for being a part of you and your journey - just that. Every feeling is an energy and serves some purpose in your life. If you want, take the time here to understand why you have the feelings that you have. Name the feeling. Name the origin. This is not a place to blame this feeling on people or circumstances outside of yourself. This is just a moment to honor that every part of life has purpose and value. To honor something means to give it reverence and its rightful place in the creation of the Universe.
  3. Bless – Bless your feelings for being a part of you and your journey. When you can truly reach a conscious expression of Gratitude, you can raise your vibration of energy. Gratitude is a high frequency vibration of energy that allows compassion to flow through your being. To bless something acknowledges that this too is an expression of the Creator.
  4. Release – Release all feelings that you are ready to let go of. Feelings are like water, they are meant to be fluid and moving toward the ocean of consciousness. Release any of the damns you have built, either in the mind, heart or body and allow the river of feelings to flow through you, releasing this energy into the Earth. The Earth will neutralize all energy and return it to a usable Source.
Use this process of fluid movement of feelings for anything that needs to be healed, worked through or known. Feel what you feel. And then, honor – bless – release. We can remember the Creator’s space of love and acceptance. We can learn to love ourselves and all of the feelings we have. We can heal. We can grow. We can feel different in the next moment.
